Frequently asked questions

What is psychosexual & relationship therapy?

Psychosexual and relationship therapy is a more precise way of saying “sex therapy”. It aims to help people understand and resolve difficulties they might be having with sex and/ or relationships.

Are there any concessionary rates available?

Please email me on hello@munjeeta.com to discuss this. I believe therapy should be accessible to as many people as possible and am always happy to chat about possibilities. Please note, there may be a wait for concessionary spots.

How do I cancel or reschedule an appointment?

The best way to do this is to email me on hello@munjeeta.com as early as possible and I can help to cancel or rearrange your appointment. Please note that I do require 72 hours notice, or your session will still be payable.

Do my partner(s) and I only need to see a relationship therapist if we are in crisis?

Absolutely not… in fact I’d say the best time to see a relationship therapist is when things are going well! That way you can prepare yourself with tools you can use if you find yourselves struggling.

How do I make a booking?

Fill out the 'Book a call' form with your personal details, the type of therapy you are seeking and a brief summary of the issues that you would like to discuss. I will respond within 72 hours (Mon-Fri).

You will then be able to decide whether you would like to book in for a free 30 minute initial call for us to touch base before you book in.

I’ve never been to (sex) therapy before, and I’m nervous. Help?

Starting therapy can be super scary! We will have an informal 30 minute chat before your first appointment, which will hopefully help to settle your nerves a little. Our first session will also be more of a “getting to know you” type thing, where I will ask you to explain what you’d like to explore, and what you’d like to get out of therapy, and I will ask you lots of questions. Again, this might feel a little scary, but I talk to people about sex and relationships every day, which means I’m pretty used to it and will help to make you feel comfortable too.

How many sessions do I need?

This will depend completely on your individual needs. I usually start with a set number of sessions — negotiated individually with each client — and will discuss the possibility of extension on a case by case basis. I am open to long-term work.

Are our sessions always confidential?

I go into this fully in my client contract and privacy policy. In a nutshell: everything you say to me in the therapy room is confidential with a couple of notable exceptions:

  1. To adhere to professional standards I discuss my work with my supervisor. You remain anonymous in this space, and my supervisor is also bound by their own confidentiality clauses.

  2. If I am concerned about your safety, or someone else’s, or if I am concerned about some form of serious illegal activity.
